Nancy Lewis is offering beginning and intermediate/advanced art lessons in watercolor, pastels, and oils at the Blue Pig Gallery in Palisade, Colorado. The classes are developed for different artistic levels. No matter if you are new to art, an emerging artist or are advanced painter these classes can assist each student taking their art to a new level. The classes are divided into different levels and mediums to suit the needs of the artists.

The first half of each class the student will be guided through a variety of exercises to loosen up and explore new techniques. The second half of the class the student will work on a project of their choice. The class will have demos, trial and error time, group discussions and individual project time. During the demos, the instructor will show how to use the medium, the paper, and application. Learning the basics in a hands on approach and developing yourself as the artist is a major goal to this class. To help the artist achieve the goal, Nancy will work with each student one-on-one providing valuable guidance
The intermediate/advanced classes will focus on new techniques, principals of design and elements of art to enhance your work. Learn about composition, color mixing, muddy colors and how to avoid it, color harmony, how to simplify shapes to enrich your art work, values and a ton of tips and tricks. Be ready to take some risks in order to step up a level by incorporating textures, patterns, limited palette. In order for you to take these steps the instructor creates a fun, encouraging, creative environment.
